Introduction

Since the innovation of fossil fuels in automobiles, humans have steadily spewed carbon into the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases trap heat from the earth, slowly raising the temperature of the delicate ecosystems in Earth. In a world that struggles from the consequences of Global Warming, I have made it my goal to reduce my personal ecologic footprint. It is against my Christian morals to simply sit back and watch the environment deteriorate. This goal will be shown though my Bible Passion Project, a project where we are given the opportunity to choose a topic. We must have a task to try and achieve, or learn something significant. My goal, beyond reducing my ecological footprint, is to plant and maintain (weed and water) 600 evergreen saplings in my 19 acre yard. This is something I am slightly experienced in already, as I am often planting and transplanting trees during the summer. Roughly 5 years ago, my family did a similar task, planting 300 saplings. This project requires a mentor to guide us through the difficult stages. The mentor I chose is the person who knows much about global warming, but more specifically, how to grow plants in a eco-friendly way. He is my boss at my summer job, working in a organic U-pick garden. By the end of this project, I hope to have 600 healthy trees planted and have a thorough understanding of Global Warming, knowing the causes, prevention strategy and future implications.
