One of the most impressive cars on the market today is the Tesla Model S. Despite the fact Tesla didn't release a new car, it was named Consumer Report's Best Car for the second year in a row. Out of all the electric vehicles, Tesla has the most advanced and efficient battery system that allows it to go farther on a single charge, travelling close to 400 km. Having an electric car like this reduces your carbon emissions for most areas of the world. Electric vehicles are more harmful to build, but the negative effects decrease after that. It depends on how the electricity is created, as coal burns dirtier than a gasoline engine. Here in Manitoba, with hydroelectricity, it is definitely a good choice.

What is Global Warming?
To understand the passion behind my passion project, Global Warming must be understood. Global Warming refers to the long term change in climate that has been caused primarily through human action. The scientific explanation for the increased heat is the accumulation of additional Greenhouse Gases, carbon compounds such as Carbon Dioxide and Methane. When we burn anything, from firewood to fuels for our cars, we produce unnatural levels of gas that traps heat into the atmosphere, not allowing it to regulate. The atmosphere heats up, warming the oceans and melting the icecaps. There are many things that contribute carbon to the air, but only one main way to remove it, being plants. Plants take in carbon through photosynthesis, depositing the carbon into the soil where it isn't harmful.

Introduction
Since the innovation of fossil fuels in automobiles, humans have steadily spewed carbon into the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases trap heat from the earth, slowly raising the temperature of the delicate ecosystems in Earth. In a world that struggles from the consequences of Global Warming, I have made it my goal to reduce my personal ecologic footprint. It is against my Christian morals to simply sit back and watch the environment deteriorate. This goal will be shown though my Bible Passion Project, a project where we are given the opportunity to choose a topic. We must have a task to try and achieve, or learn something significant. My goal, beyond reducing my ecological footprint, is to plant and maintain (weed and water) 600 evergreen saplings in my 19 acre yard. This is something I am slightly experienced in already, as I am often planting and transplanting trees during the summer. Roughly 5 years ago, my family did a similar task, planting 300 saplings. This project requires a mentor to guide us through the difficult stages. The mentor I chose is the person who knows much about global warming, but more specifically, how to grow plants in a eco-friendly way. He is my boss at my summer job, working in a organic U-pick garden. By the end of this project, I hope to have 600 healthy trees planted and have a thorough understanding of Global Warming, knowing the causes, prevention strategy and future implications.
